Case Study 3: Primrose Mill Carpets
Primrose Mill is a British manufacturer of high-quality
carpet based in Clitheroe, Lancashire who have a very
popular Mill shop selling direct to the public. In June
of last year they decided to extend their reach to a
wider customer base by commissioning a website that
would allow people to choose and order carpet samples
online from the comfort of their own home.
Heather Alker of Primrose Mill Carpets said: “We
had no web presence before, so we started with a completely
blank page. We asked eBusiness UK to design and create
a website that would showcase our entire range of
quality carpets. We wanted to be able to show special
offers and have the facility to constantly add new
ranges.
We also wanted the ability to keep our customers
updated on special offers and new products via an
electronic newsletter.”
The first job was to get the website created. It
was deliberately kept simple and clear, allowing the
user to intuitively find what they were looking for.
Once created, the next priority was to ensure the
site could be found on all the major search engines.
The right key words are of paramount importance when
it comes to finding a website via search engines.
eBusiness UK carefully considered the most appropriate
key words and phrases and then worked with the client
to create a definitive list.
Once agreed, the next stage was to optimise the site
and then register it with all the major search engines.
Primrose Mill enjoys a first or second page ranking
with the major search engines.
Heather Alker added: “We now get a phenomenal
number of enquiries via our website, it has been an
invaluable sales tool for us. In addition, we already
have a list of over 900 names of people who have elected
to sign up for our regular online newsletter.
Both eBusiness UK and their sister company eMarketing
UK have been great to work with. We’ve found
their advice invaluable and their work has made a
significant impact on our business. We’d highly
recommend their services to anyone looking to develop
a website or make their website easier to find.”
